With a lavish and rock-star lifestyle comes more attention, scrutiny perhaps, and ones sense of self consciousness disappears into carelessness. Unfortunately this seems to have become the case of some notable dj’s in recent years. The top tier of this list may even consider themselves immune to rules, specifically common laws that govern the possession and use of narcotics. Most recently. “Internationally renowned Colombian-American DJ and record-label owner, Erick Morillo, has been charged with possession of cocaine at Glasgow Airport.” Undoubtedly, the fate of his trial in Scotland could prove devastating to the entire dj community. Morillo allegedly pleaded “not guilty” to authorities and was released on bail. Furthermore, Erick Morillo will be required to return to Scotland in March for trial. While some charge may be inevitable we hope that the outcome is not too detrimental to his image and credibility as a very talented dj/producer. Ultimately this should serve as an example to others to think twice about “stocking up” for their next gig.
